“A” TEAM Tim Durick, Tim Slater, Craig Brenno, Robert Swenson, Jim Miller, Coach Chuck Erickson, Robert Casteel, Jerome Negaard, Keith Berg, Charles Swenson, Ron Brothen, Student Manager Carl Johnson. Lead by three senior starters, Craig Brenno, Robert Swenson, and Tim Slater, the Cougars compiled a season record of 12 wins and 11 losses. In conference play we ended up in ninth place in the fourteen member Northwest Conference with a conference record of 8 wins and 9 losses. The team was very consistent throughout the season, never losing to a team below us in the con- ference, and never beating a team above us. In the Burke County Tournament, Columbus de- feated Flaxton for third place and in the District tourna- ment in Minot, we were defeated by Crosby who later took second in the tourna- ment. Coach Erickson and that blame knee. 30 Happy Johnson, ever present.
