Our spirit was shown in various ways. At pep rallies, the bleachers vibrated as the drummers congregated in the middle of the gym for the playing of the Alma Mater. As was the custom, spirits ran high when we gathered around the bonfire for Homecoming week festivities. 4 Opening

Suddenly summer was over. Never mind that the thermometer said it was ninety-eight degrees outside! It was time for Columbus’ Blue Devils to start back to school. Summer’s long hours abruptly turned into fall’s regimented schedules. Multitudes of schedule cards were filled out. 6 Opening
