The Foreign Language Club is composed of those students who are enrolled in a foreign language and interested in participating in activities outside of classroom study. Mrs. Gorman advises the club and does an excellent job of helping to organize related projects and outings. Among these have been attending a Jose Greco concert at Columbus College and pre- senting a Spanish version of A Charlie Brown Christmasi' to the foreign language classes of Arnold Jr. High. Other activities included eating a meal at Taco Casa and holding a club Christmas party where foods from different parts of the world were served. Several members of the club also planned a trip to Mexico during the Spring Holidays. Meetings of the Columbus High chapter are held every other Thursday, and programs have included guest speakers, a field trip to the BankAmericard division of the Columbus Bank and Trust Company, and math related films. Several members are also involved in the area mathematics tournaments and spent many afternoons preparing to represent Columbus High in com- petition with other high schools from around the state. Broaden Backgrounds Q , f' The Library Club, under the direction of Mr. Judah, spent time improving their skills and general knowledge of the library. Before the year was out, the organization had also performed a number of worthwhile projects. One service they provided throughout the year was working as aides in the library and helping the students and faculty of Colum- bus High in any way possible. Their skill and Willingness to work helped keep the library running smoothly as a valuable tool for all who used it.
