Both past and present are a part of social studies. Map study is very helpful in social studies. Social Studies subjects taken during the high school years inform students of the progress of civilization and culture from the early beginning of time up to the present Atomic Age. During the first years of high school, world history and U. S. history are studied. Seniors concentrate on government and Problems in Democracy. Upperclassmen uscanningn the American Observer, which is a Weekly newspaper of current events, before class discussion is often a familiar sight.
