As class president this year, she has striven to keep us from going astray and has always seen us through our little dillieulties. Vllhen any of the class has been down in the dumps, Susie could send us into gales ol' laughter with one of her timely remarks. Al' though we often hear her say, You ean't do that! or Really, girls, you might get into troubleln, we know our liery redfhead loves parties and is always ready for a good time. As a member of nearly every club and many various teams, with her school spirit and vest for life, she bubbles over into her famous impromptu poems and songs. Although we tease Susan about her loyaltv to the South, her innocence QU, and her pathetic, H1 know l'm ugly, Judy, but l really ean't help it , our class would be lost without its funfloving, vivacious leader. A brown eye is a roguislz one. Carol's sheepish grin is certainly no indication of what is going on behind those twinkling eyes of hers. ller love of fun is illustrated by her Monday morning revelations of her weekend jaunts. Carol's life, how- ever, is not all frivolity, for her sense of values has been a major factor in her successful leadership of the student body, both as Secretary and President of Student Coun- cil. The lirm belief which she has in her convictions has enabled her to uphold her ideas and those of the students and attempt to make these ideas coincide with those of the faculty. Yet she never lets her problems get her down. She can laugh at these problems, then settle down to weigh them and come up with a typical Blau solution. This same initiative and ingenuity have been the compelling force behind many class activities and Blau ideas. This Blau originality often results in her leading her many friends in their good times at spreads, dances, and parties Qespecially at the Beta llousej. lt is the sparkle in her eyes that seems to help Carol to lind the sparkle in everything she does.
