Class Prophecy We, Don Mayberry and Kay McDowell, Seniors of 1954, have entered a partnership in a plantation in South America. It is now 1974, and we had an urge to go back to our old home town and look up the seniors of our class. As we get closer to town, we notice a new road. It is Lake Shore Drive, as we drive along we see a sign which says Lake Columbiaville- fishing- swimming- and boat racing. Coming closer to town,we noticed many Changes in the o1d'place. The first thing for us to do was to find a place to stay, so we headed for town. How the town had grown since 1954- stop signs were re- placed by stop lightsz everywhere were strange faces too. Soon wr- saw a sign Rooms for Rent . When we got to the door it was opened by Sue Hunt. We went to Jack's Steak House for dinner. When we got inside the diner, we heard a familiar voice which belonged to none other than Jack Knickerbocker. He told us Jerry Baker had bought out Bob Robertson and was running his own drug store, with Bob Hunt as his assistant. After eating, we went riding around town and we spotted Joan Hunt, the forrner Miss McPherson, leaning over the back fence talking to Janeen Kippe, her old friend. Later we found that Janeen was now Mrs. Ray Hoskins and had a couple of children. Ffgm Joan' we found that Leda Parks had taken so long in making up her mind between Erwin O'De1l and Whimp, that Whimp married her sister and she was waiting for Erwin to finish his career in the army. lHe is now coaching the Army Football Squad.j We stopped and bought a paper and found by the headlines, that Captain Archie Leach had lost another shipping vessel in a storm on the Atlantic. Reading further, we found out that Erwin Sutton and Clarence Moorhouse were following the foot- steps of General McArthur and General Eisenhower. They must have joined just after school let out in '54, We learned that Nancy Volker is a secretary for TWA Airlines, and that Emma Roach is astew- ardess for the same company. Shirley Tankard, a teacher in the new school, showed us through the building. Still the same old place though---not much to do so here we go---back to South America and the beautiful senoritas. SENIOR STARS Shirl Janelle Joan 18
