We elected our officers: Bob Albrecht- president: Erwin O'Dcll- vice- pres- idemg Janeen Kippe- secretaryg Joan McPherson- treasurer. Mr. Spurck was chosen as our class sponsor. Our activities of the year were a skating party, and a bake sale. So ended our first year of high school. ln September of 1951we started our sophomore year with even more spirit. We chose as our leaders: Jerry Baker-president: Nancy Volker-vice-president: Joyce Hill- secretary: Susan Hunt- treasurer: and Bob McMullen- student council representative. We elected Mr. Owens as our sponsor. Our activities of that year were a skating party, box social and selling candy and pop at basketball games. The Fall of 1952 found us back in school looking forward to an eventful year. To lead us we chose: Janeen Kippe- presidentg Bob Hunt-vice- presidentg Don Mayberry-secretaryg and Jack Knickerbocker- treasurer. We elected Mrs. Collins as our sponsor. We presented a play Hillbilly Weddin 'which was a huge success. As spring wore on, we were confronted with putting on the biggest event of the year, the Junior- Senior Prom. We chose the theme Hitch Your Wagon to 3 Star . The gymnasium was decorated very beautifully in blue and silver. Other activities were a skating party and a pancake supper. In 19523 we returned to school as high and mighty seniors. We chose as our able lead- ers for this final year: Bob Hunt-presidentg Sue Hunt- vice-president: Joan Mc Pherson- secretary: Shirley Tankard- treasurer: Kay McDowell and Janeen Kippe student council representatives. We again chose Mrs. Collins as our sponsor. Many events marked the last year of our days in Columbiaville High School. For our class play, we chose a three- act comedy No Boys Allowedl Another big job was the yearbook. It was edited by the Seniors of 54 . A pancake supper, February 4, was another big activity. All too quickly came the prom and the trip to New York Citv, from May 18-212. There was also Baccalaureate, Class Night, and Commencement. Un- believable as it seems, our high-school years were over. Looking back at the past four years, we would like to show our appreciation to all our sponsors, also to Mr. Bowles, Mr. Schindler, Mr. Naber and Mrs. Smith for their guidance and wonderful help through our high-school years. I5 Class Will We, the Senior Class,of One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty- four, being of unsound mind and disintegrating memory after four strenuous years, do hereby make, publish, and declare this as our last will and testament, hereby revoking all former b6Ql16SIS and devises of whatever nature by Us already made. The Senior Class hereby bequeaths to the Faculty of Columbiaville, a sweet and unbroken succession of restful nights and peaceful dreams. The Senior Class does hereby bequeath to the Junior Class our now empty treasury book and hope that next year you can build up almost as high an account as we did this year, so that you will be able to go on a short trip, maybe a boat ride to Bob- Lo. To the Sophomore Class, the Seniors will their orderly class meeting so that hereafter the Sophomores will be able to get something accomplished when they have a class meeting. The Senior Class does hereby bequeath to the Freshman Class our utmost sympathy, dignity, honestness, brains, goodlooks, etc. , as we know the Freshman Class will get a lot of use out of them. I, Jerry Baker, leave Peg to Jerry Joe Parks, as I feel he has driven by her home enough times to deserve her. I, Bob llunt, will my basketball ability to Bill Burgess. I, Sue Ilunt, will my ability to cut class and not get caught at it to Paul Erwin, as I feel he will need this said ability in the future. I, Joan Mi-Pherson, pass on my given ability to flirt to Jo Ann Palek. I, Clarence IX-loorhouse, will my driving ability to any person who has the courage to risk his life as Ihave. I, Erwin O'DeIl, leave my broad shoulders to Keith Ward so he will be a better football player. l, Emma Roach, will my slimness to Janet Myers. To Jerry Baker we give these knee pads so that his knees don't get sore when he is talking to Peg lsince s e is so shortj. To Mrs. Fader we give this bottle of nerve pills in case the Seniors next year give her such a hard time in government as we did. To Mr. Rosenbaum we give this school bus so he won't have such a hard time getting to the basketball games next year. To Janeen Kippe we give this box of cake mix so that she will have something to cook for Ray. I7 Class Prophecy We, Don Mayberry and Kay McDowell, Seniors of 1954, have entered a partnership in a plantation in South America. It is now 1974, and we had an urge to go back to our old home town and look up the seniors of our class. As we get closer to town, we notice a new road. It is Lake Shore Drive, as we drive along we see a sign which says Lake Columbiaville- fishing- swimming- and boat racing. Coming closer to town,we noticed many Changes in the o1d'place. The first thing for us to do was to find a place to stay, so we headed for town. How the town had grown since 1954- stop signs were re- placed by stop lightsz everywhere were strange faces too. Soon wr- saw a sign Rooms for Rent . When we got to the door it was opened by Sue Hunt. We went to Jack's Steak House for dinner. When we got inside the diner, we heard a familiar voice which belonged to none other than Jack Knickerbocker. He told us Jerry Baker had bought out Bob Robertson and was running his own drug store, with Bob Hunt as his assistant. After eating, we went riding around town and we spotted Joan Hunt, the forrner Miss McPherson, leaning over the back fence talking to Janeen Kippe, her old friend. Later we found that Janeen was now Mrs. Ray Hoskins and had a couple of children. Ffgm Joan' we found that Leda Parks had taken so long in making up her mind between Erwin O'De1l and Whimp, that Whimp married her sister and she was waiting for Erwin to finish his career in the army. lHe is now coaching the Army Football Squad.j We stopped and bought a paper and found by the headlines, that Captain Archie Leach had lost another shipping vessel in a storm on the Atlantic. Reading further, we found out that Erwin Sutton and Clarence Moorhouse were following the foot- steps of General McArthur and General Eisenhower. They must have joined just after school let out in '54, We learned that Nancy Volker is a secretary for TWA Airlines, and that Emma Roach is astew- ardess for the same company. Shirley Tankard, a teacher in the new school, showed us through the building. Still the same old place though---not much to do so here we go---back to South America and the beautiful senoritas.
