The next tablet shows simply a carved Chinese lantern surrounded by what one judges to be coins of the period. The reverse side, however, depicts a vast audience in the act of applause. They seem to have arrived at a crisis in their tribal life for their faces are set and their eyes cast straight ahead. They are dressed in long flowing robes with funny square boards on their heads.
