i A moment . . . commencement, but where and how does one begin? How indescribably complex is that moment between the end and the beginning. A myriad of feelings: wanting so much to envelop the future, using oneself to penetrate and mold it . . . but fraught with apprehension and uncertainty about what is to come. Autonomy is at handy its implications and responsibilities are inescapable. Such a realization is staggering! One feels a pervading ambivalence: between wanting the security of what is now ours, but filled with the yearning to move an, away from the ties that would stifle us. We stand on the threshold of this mo- ment, immobilized by these feelings, uncertain of ourselves . . . It is but a moment, the stirrings ofthe soul are strong, the inner spirit clear . . . as if the passage of time were stimulus to the will, we move into the future, with resolution and determination . . . seeking eagerly those moments yet beyond imagining.
