' BIAN-11'l the light of the handsome volumes of to-day ua poor thing, sirs, but mine own, - I appreciate the amount of labor that goes into making one of these vol- umes. In our undergraduate life I know of no more arduous or more useful form of public service. The preceding classes have set a high standard for these annual volumes, a standard, however, which we leave to the class of 1912 to meet and surpass. If l could afford it l should send a copy to every Alumnus of the College, for there is no better way of learning what we are trying to do at Columbia, and what we are accomplishing in so many Helds of undergraduate activity, than by careful study of the COLUMBIAN.
