To the Class of 1961 I accept with pleasure the invitation to convey to you, the members of the Class of 1961 of the College of Pharmacy, my greeting and word of congratulation upon your completion of your course of studies. As you know, the successful conclusion of your formal training by no means marks the completion of your education. With proficiency which has satisfied the exacting conditions of your school you have completed an important phase of your professional preparation. The years ahead, however, will be no less years of learning. I hope you have gained from your studies an appreciation of the joys of intellectual curiosity. I hope your enthusiasm for investigation, for scientific exploration, will grow with your future. More than all, I hope you will be ever mindful of the responsibility you owe to the com- munity in the practice of your profession. As your opportunity for service increases, so does the obligation for the discharge of this responsibility in the public interest.
