CR Bands Have Pride The 1981-82 Chieftain Band had a great year of music. The marching band ' s highlights included a trip to Corvallis, Oregon for the OSU Band Day, the Kingbowl Marching competition, and the Spring Tour with the stage band and swing choir, when the groups traveled to Aberdeen and Montesano, Washington. The concert band also did well, receiving a superior 1 rating at the LCRMEA Band Contest at Fort Vancouver High School. The stage band had a year full of impressive perfor- mances, and the pep band provided winning spirit at basketball games. And the best part about being in band was the togetherness that could be felt at football halftime performances or on band trips when the slogan was: We Have Pride — We Are CR! Color Guard Accents Band This years Color Guard had a very rewarding season The Color Guard did many new things never done befor e While still marching with the Band during Parade and Foot ball Season, the Color Guard also performed a dance dur ing a Pep Assembly, did two half time shows at the Boys Basketball games, Went to Kingdome with the Band and did the Spring tour also. Under the direction of Captain Dena Aspaas, the Color Guard won the Bandino Award which was well deserved. These girls showed real talent and real C.R. spirit. We hope next years Color Guard has the same exciting season as this ones did.
