'lille quulificzttinns for member- ship was at grade of HC or better in the Chemistry Class. During the year the club visited severzll lending industrial organizations where chemistry is employed. Xleetings were held every two weeks in the discussion room of the Science Building. During the meetings moving pictures were shown, demonstra- tions were enacted. and talks given on the different phases of chemistry. One of the main projects of the club was the keep- ing of :i chemistry scrap book. Some of the places that the club visited were: lflectric Steel Foundry, Portland Gas :ind Coke Company. Swift Packing Company, and the Crown-lVill:unette Pamper Hill at Czimzis. lVztshington. The club was unique even to the nzuning of the officers thus: Bob llletczilfe. Chief Chemist: Albert Kiickel, Assistant Chief Chemist: Joe Barth, Bench Chemist: and Hurry Carlin, Cor- responding Chemist. All were under the direction nf lXIr. XV:llter Stott, the Faculty Chemist.

'Glad Richard Campbell - Presirlelit Charles Bleeg - - lYil'l'-I,l'l'.Vfdl'Ilf john Doherty - Secretary-Trefmlrer A NEW' c1.L'B that was formed this year under the able direc- tion of Father Richard Klurphy, was the Physics Club. It very rapidly became one of the leading organizations in the school. The Physics Club undertook several trips, heard numerous in- teresting lectures from the members of the club, and kept a scientific scrapbook throughout the school year. The meetings of the club were held every week after school in the Science Building. At these meetings the members were given topics to write about for the next meeting. Several inter- esting discussions were held on the different scientific inventions such as the telephone, radio, television. photographic lens. and many other interesting! subjects. The club also viewed several interesting mox ies which pertained to science.
