THE RECALL, 1928 gl IQ Q it IZ gg gg 4 IZ SENIOR CLASS HISTORY The time for the 1928 class of the Columbia Military Academy to dis- band is now at h-and. With the bestowing of the diplomas this class shall have mouthed its last upon the stage. Realizing tha-t the separationi of the memlbers of the class impending it is bo-th fitting and proper at this time to turn back to pages of time over the past four years. The class of '28 has a record of which it is justly proud. We have stood bright, acamedically and otherwise. We have been thru four in- spections by the Military 'Honor Board and have acquitted ourselves with honor. We have seen and been engaged in the organization of the Honor Council which has been so vastly beneficial to the school. After being together for the past four years the thought of dispersal is the only shade of sadness that tinges the joy of graduation. It would be impossible for any historian to analyze iproper and record adequately the spiriit of this class. I, as historian merely state that the spirit of the class is the mast valued element in its history. Our officers have always carried their part well and this year is es- pecially so. Our president, Captain Greer, of Shelywbville, Tennessee is all that a class president could be and is loved and respected by every member of the corps. Vice-president McLemore and Secretary and Treasurer Law- rence have also wforked untiringly and unceasingly for the good of the class. the corps and the school. And as we leave forever the halls of this academy we say to the under- classnien: Listen to the words of wisdom, Listen to the words of warning, All our strength is in our union, All our danger is in discord. . - . CLASS PROPHECY Well having gotten my Ph. D. at Oxford and points west, I have se- cured a position befitting my higher learning. To be specific I am cail boy at Bradsti-eet's and between yells write critical essays on Western Story Nick Carter and several others of the more widely read classics. Speaking of Bradstreet's I'll have a look into the manual and try to get a glimpse of my classmates of ten years since. Aldridge I see has recaptured the ,heavyweight hog calling championship which he lost last year due to a throat concoction develope-d by the eminent chemist, Mr. Bailey of the Rubvber Brick and Hosiery laboratories at Sing' Sing. The spo1't of Kings has claimed its own. Brenzier is following' the horses. He works for the city. Carr is marketing his famous one man bumfpers designed to make Jay Walking less hazardous. Carle is an immense success as t-he manager of a matrimonial bureau. He sends his own photo to the feminine applicants. Down to the slums of Chicago has Senor Cabrera journeyed to study modern revolution and its branc-hes. The fboy is a genius in his way. That honor graduate of Annapolis, Carter, is now a Rear Admiral, very well to the rear. Bill Coker now tontures a drum with Paul Whiteman. The boy would do it. Cosby is mistreating' his -Sax in Barnum and Bailey making un- natural noises in a natural way, Well, well, an advertisement of old C. M. A.
