Class History Now that our graduation from C.H.S. is drawing near, we remember fondly the happenings of the past four years here, as a class. We were freshmen. How much better it seemed than being called eighth graders! Here are some of the events of our Freshman year-the Dramatic Club play, Cheaper by the Dozen , C.H.S. winning the Conference of the Roses football championship for the first time. The C.H.S. Varieties of 1954. Our class officers: Steve Wisler, presidentg Robert Zeamer, vice president, Robert Bnockley, secretary, and Dawn Bongart, treasurer. A successful basketball season. The long awaited Fresh- man-Sophomore Party, and then summer vacation. September, 1954-The beginning of our Sophomore year had arrived. This was an exciting year for us, highlighted by the winning of the Conference of the Roses for the second straight year. T'he school play- Andy Hardy. Our oiiicers: Joseph Stephens, presidentg Carl von Stetten, vice-president, Robert Zeamer, sec- retary, and Robert Brockley, treasurer. A basketball team of which to be proud. The Freshman-Sophomore party, and finals. Juniors-How proud we were to bear that name! Some of the memories of 1955-1956 are-the Tri-Hi-Y initiations and the play Father Knows Best. Class officers: John Thomas, presidentg Charles Hershey, vice-president, Leota Bigler, secretary, and Robert Brockley, treasurer. T'he Tri-Hi-Y formal. A championship basketball team. The lively professional assemblies. The Junior-Senior Prom, and the inevitable finals. Our Junior year was over. Seniors at last! This was our most memorable year at Columbia High. It was highlighted by George Bergey's giving the Mitidin Address, having our class pictures taken, front seats in 'the auditorium, and some of us taking the College Entrance Exams. Our class officers: John Thomas, presidentg Charles Myers, vice- president, Linda Bigler, secretary, and Robert Brockley, treasurer. Steve Wisler was President of the Student Council. The Senior High play, Little Women, the Christmas Cantata, Dawn Bongart's winning the D.A.R. award, another great bas- ketball team, moving into the new school, the Tri-Hi-Y prom, the Youth Day elec- tions, the Jtmior-Senior Prom, May Day, final exams, Baccalaureate, and our Commencement rounded out our last year at C.H.S. 27
