THE SUSQUEHANNOCK 1950 IIISTURY As we all slt around the campfire brlght Awaltlllg our admlsslon to the trrbe We start to thmk and talk about the thmgs That led to thxs momentous occasmon We remember just how we hrst arrlved So young so lost so mslgnrficant How all the gxrls were charmed by our new coach Mr LEWIS Sweger and how we laughed At that hllarlous comedy Tlsh Tardmess was so prevalent that year Assembly study hall was always full' We took our last trouncmg from McCaskey And were escorted to our fxrst class dance Llstenmg to Mel1nka of Astrakhan Provlded us wxth entertamment rare- And suddenly our fnrst year was over' After a beautlful brxef vacatnon We resolutely trudged back to our school As Sophomores our year was hxghllghted By the unforgettable basketball Playoff the one we lost by one lone pomt' And Came the Sprmg was the Dramatlc Club Production that we all saw and enjoyed The mstallatxon of a new furnace Gave us an unexpected vacatlon The student electlons were held that year With showers of bubble gum from the stage Thus the curtam fell on our second term A third tlme we returned to Columbla Hxgh Th1s tame as jumors of more prommence Thxs year we added a Safe Drxvmg course And everythmg was safe but Mr Schwartz' The weaker sex our glrls sprouted muscles When we renewed the gxrls Phys Ed classes A Date Wxth Judy was presented then A rollxckmg comedy ln three acts' The Glee Clubs harmonrzed to brmg to us The operetta Meet Arlzona How proud we were to wear the rmgs we chose Whlch branded us a class of future years' And so another chapter was fimshed As Senlors we felt so superlor Talkmg in study hall Slttlflg 1n those Cherished front seats ln assembly walkmg So proudly down the mrddle of the halls' Then we were rushmg to wrlte our source themes Laughlng at that dellghtful comedy Mother Is a Freshman drlftmg among The brllllant streamers at our Semor Prom Enjoyrng our tuneful operetta Rose of the Danube takmg finals That too short Semor trlp to Washmgton All at once we were marchmg down the axsle To the slow strams of Pomp and Cxrcumstance Then a phase of our l1ves ended for all Too soon Hugh School was but a memory' Page I0 V . . , . . . . 3 , . --.86 ' YF . . n- , , ' ' ' - 44 ' as 9 y 1 , .
