Football After an absence of six years, football has returned to C.H.S. Stiff competition and inexperience handed the team a losing season. Although the team lost, many underclassmen gained in experience which can be used in future seasons. We congratulate the team for its suc- cess in bringing the sport back to our school. But it took more than the team. Money was needed for equipment and uniforms. The boys had to be trained. For the financial help we thank Mr. White, whose efforts got us started, and Kirkman Lumber Co, who provided lumber for the stands, a badly needed blocking sled, and most of all, new shoulder pads. For training we sincerely ap- preciate the efforts of Coach Brickhouse and the as- sistance of Thomas and John Kirkman. Good luck to next seasonâs team and thanks again to all of those who helped make this small, vital beginning. Coach Brickhouse Pictured) 28 and Mr. Thomas Kirkman. For was it not He In seven daysâ labor, That created the living man For the world as a favor? What seems a dream To men of mortality, Can somehow, someway Be shaped and sculptured into reality. Therefore, a gentle beginning Through stress and strife, Is what you make of yourself The rest of your life. Here we go! ball. Today we are calculating how many of our predictions have come m Yes There is Gail Aidoock. Even in high school she walked like a model. Now she acts as the primary model for the popular French agazine, âThe International Knot-Knee.ââ 5 We URE earn were two of the most popular nicknames in our senior class. Glenn Ainsley, of COUIBES was our sigs little Glendora. Glenn decided he could make a career from this name. He is now starring in the television romance series, Fun Tee - Ronald Cuthrell whom we called Dollbaby is now head manager of the booming business which manufactures the charming Chatty Dathy Pioratuvceat Bountiful curls, all at the hands of Sheila Armstrong, Sheila has become the most well-known hair stylist at the Do-Dippy Hair Salon. One of her main customers is Nancy Sawyer who is now acting as cover girl for Summer Blonde packages. ; One of the quietest members of our class was, Mary Brickhouse. âBecusââ, with her quiet ways, has become an outstanding secret agent of the F.B.I. Many crimes are being solved due to her outstanding work. ico There is always bound to be a distinguished singer in every senior class. From our senior class it was Monty Hassell. Tiny Tim just doesnât stand a chance these days while Monty is around. As we look back on our senior year, we remember Danny White for his super strength. Today we see him appearing on the Eve program, âAll Star Wrestling.â Just as every class has its singer, so does it have its athletes. Wake Forest has always bee n the goal for Roy Lowe. He is now a Wake Forest Deacon basketball player. With his fans urging him on, there is no doubt that he will become the best Deacon player there has ever been at Wake Forest. Just as Roy has excelled in basketball, so has Reggie White excelled in football. It was apparent during our high school days that Reggie would be a star football player. So it is. He is now the star fullback for the Red Lake Packers. No team can ever predict his next move. Linda Cohoon and Daisy Spencer are now outstanding seamstresses and cooks. They are now publishing the âCohoon and Spencer Cook Book for Newly Weds.â Their principal ingredient is that THE WAY TO THEIR HEART IS THROUGH THEIR STOMACH. For âside kicksâ Daisy has taken a part time job in administering the techniques of dancing. Along with the cooking and sewing, Marilou Norman has taken courses on how to become a top-job house keeper and housewife. From these courses she has become the best- â all-around in home life. Everybody knows that during high school, the only star Joyce Cooper could even think about was Elvis Presley. Today Joyce and Elvis are together producing a movie entitled âBattle of the Bulge.â The great carpenter of the class has turned out to be Eddie Reynolds. He has continued from his high school years to engage in a profitable business of building frames for the Junior-Senior Proms. The great fisherman and hunter of the 1968-69 senior class was Eddie Roughton. Today he is the head game warden patrolling the Scuppernong and Sound Side areas. Dedicated to the greatest profession on earth are Shirley Jones and Linda Sawyer. These girls have entered the eternal bliss of marriage and are helping with the population explosion. Entered into the music profession is Michael Bryant who has followed in the footsteps of James Brown. The song made popular by Š Michael is âHello, Mary.â Of course, this relates to Mary Spencer who has become the object of his affection. Lynn McClees, Wanda Snell, and Louise Davenport are all established secretaries of the Tyrrell County Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie Yellow : Polka Dot Bikini Factory. Miss Snell is soon to retire from this job in order to engage in matrimony. Lynn is also retiring from this job to 9 become part owner in Jones Incorporated. So you see two main secretarial jobs are now open for secretaries of on-coming classes. No class would be right without its hot rods. Al Hollis anc Denny Taylor have become winners in the National Hot Rod Race and are now in the hospital. Billy Maitland is now owner of the Boll-Weevil Trucking Company. Sharon Ward, of course, is the main secretary. It is foreseen that she will in due time become part owner. Way to go, Sharon! Jerry Rhodes and Rex Simmons are now appearing in a weekly T.V. program. The program is a descendant of the late Smothers Brothers Show. You can guess for yourself who the dumb one is! j History has always played an important part in our living. Tommy Everett is now teaching the history of the 1960âs at the University of â Columbia. Thatâs enough to keep anybody busy. Leadership was the key quality of Tommy Cahoon during high school. Today it is still the key quality. Tommy is now Vice President of the United States. Next term Tommy hopes to run for President of the United States. That really brings back memories of government class. All those, âWho you gonna vote for, Mrs. Van Horne?â Louise Robinson became a member of our graduating class during the senior year. She, the nice, quiet preacherâs daughter, is now the main go-go dancer at the Edgewater Casino. No one should be surprised at this! Jay McClees is owner of the Playboy Publishing Company and head manager of the Columbia Bunnies. Heâs really applying his two years of French. ââCherchez la femme.â There is always bound to be a class comedian. Our class comedian was Howard Swain. Howard has entered show business taking the place of Red Skeleton. This is how our class has turned out. As for June_and_me, we are both widows with six children each, and living on welfare. Work to Keep North Carolina Green and Clean... and America Beautiful! West Virginia Pulp and Paper Companyâan Outer Banks Neighbor of yours since 1952âhas the kind of experience in resource management you only get by âgoing to school.â We know that our North Carolina Woodlands can produce more and better forest and agricultural products while providing a wide variety of outdoor recreation activities for our fellow citizens. It takes an equally wide variety of skills and specialized knowledge to handle the many jobs that keep our trees and farm crops growing:âresearch to improve our lands and products, maintaining and operating our equipment, and running our offices, shops and laboratories. We hope you will recognize and accept the great opportunities to grow and prosper with a growing North Carolina . . . and education is the key to that growth! First, FINISH HIGH SCHOOL. Then, go to college if at all possible, and ask your Guidance Councellor or Senior Advisor about scholarships in pulp and paper, forestry, wildlife and recreation management, or anything else you might be interested in. If college is not possible for you right now, get into a good trade school or technical education center, or apprentice- ship program and LEARN THESE SKILLS that todayâs technological business operations demand.
