ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY The overall operation of CHS is the responsibility of the Superin- tendent, Principal, the Board of Education, and the School Com- mittee. Our school is fortunate to have in these positions of adminis- tration people who are dedicated to education and always striving to improve the school's standard of quality. The students of Columbia High School are greatly indebted to its faculty for their untiring efforts to improve our school. Through their good examples and willingness to help each student, we have grown not only in knowledge, but in character. We have been taught to be well-rounded individuals with a sense of responsibility, dependa- bility and leadership. We thank you for your trust and the many hours you gave to each of us. —

to Service... We like a man who loves life and who, because of that love, manages to bring to school with him the freshness and vigor that are a part of the earth and air and sky. We admire a man who is a dreamer, looking beyond the present to a richer and more outstanding future, who sees for Columbia High School a curriculum reaching for the best, and an opportunity for individual encourage- ment, and a higher standard of achievement for each student. So, with true affection and esteem, we welcome Mr. L. A. Bruton to this, his first year of principalship at CHS. MR, L. A, BRUTON Principal Columbia High School Mrs. Annette B. Parisher is beginning her first year as school secretary. We welcome her to the CHS family. The District School Committee, Columbia High School, serves as another link between the school and the community in an advisory capacity. Many recommendations are made for the betterment of the school. This committee is composed of Mr. Lloyd Davenport, Chairman; Mrs, Charles Spruill, Secretary (not pictured); Mr. Elwood Arm- strong (not pictured); Mrs. George Owens; Mr. Edmond Phelps.
