Publications Publications at Columbia High School center around the COLUMBIAN and the CATS' WHISPERS. The Journalism Class, into whose hands the respon- sibility of these two publications fall, consists of NELLIE BALL, ASHLEY HARDISON, POLLY LUDFORD, SANDRA OWENS, and EDDIE PHELPS. Work begins in early summer with the selling of advertisements for the annual and ends at the end of school with the senior edition of the newspaper.

tH Future Farmers of America work to promote a complete life for all its mem- bers and their community. Learning to take orders and to work together in groups is the guiding principle behind the FFA. Members of the FFA have the opportunity to learn public speaking, group organiza- tion, andthe proper way to conduct meet- ‘ings by parliamentary procedure. These things teach the members of the FFA how “to get things accomplished in their com- munity through co-operation and service.
