Superstars Superstars, an event sponsored by Student Council, was held on May 9,1980, in the main gym. Among those who participated in this year's events were the football team, the soccer team, the football cheerleaders, the soccer cheerleaders, the band, the wrestling team, the boys' gymnastics team, the boys' swimming team, the Shakespeare club, and the men's and women's faculty team. Those who stayed to watch the whole competition, saw both the football team and the soccer cheerleaders win. Superstars proved fun for both competitors and spectators. Hurry! Boys' Tennis The 1980 boys' tennis team finished with a fine record of 10-6. Peter Waldor, David Syracuse, and Paul Kondo led the team in singles, jay Zaslower and Shep Snyder occasionally played singles. Shep Snyder, a former All-Stater, and Jay Zaslower formed a reliable first doubles team. The team's most consistent pairing, Scott Schwartzmann and Drew Fine, played second doubles.
