This year the Minor is dedicated to the Cougar, that feline who for so many years lias been the symbol of the athletic prowess, the school spirit, and all the other things that Columbia means to all of us. He is important not just because he rep- resents our school, but also because he represents the spirit that throughout our three years at Columbia has bound us together, and made us as one in anything that relates to school. He is our tie with all those who have long since graduated from Columbia, for the spirit that he symbolizes was the same in 1928, and 1938, as it is now in 1948; the one thing that we have in common with everyone, everywhere who ever went to Columbia, is the Cougar. He is the spirit of Columbia, and he represents for all of us all the happy memories, the good times, the hard work, the joy and sadness, the football games, the baseball games, and the other athletic contests, which will forever recall to us our high school years, and re- mind us that these were, indeed, the “best years of our lives”. ulitor-in-Chief Donald Rech Associate Editor Nancy Palmer Business Manager Theodore Straight
