Oh, and here’s something about Pinky W illiams, managing an ANZAC-RCAF canteen for visiting Australians and Canadians who liked her hospitality so much they decided to stay for good! She's very ably assisted by two genial hostesses, Cis Wilson and Pat Malone (who puts in a good word for Federal Union every now and then). And, hey, wait! Here's Boh Schmidt and Sonny Saenger doing advance publicity work for Charles Atlas, with Tommy Eustis along in case anything goes wrong, as well as Howard Ford, who likes a little excitement every once in a while, too! “And look! Here are their class officers- there's Helen Gcdncy, managing a huge occupational therapy hospital for broken-down G. A. Diane also manages a theatrical agency in Iter spare time. And about Jane Kull’s pitching for the New York Y ankees with Catherine Neimitz playing catcher! (And may we add they had a very successful season.) And here’s a column on Jane Gcisscle. the sensational tight-rope walker, with her long flowing black hair cut short enough so she won't trip over it! “'Phc well-known Betty Griflingor and Patty Gil- bertson (the beautiful president of the Aquarium, who admires all things nautical and is connected with the Navy), it says, are holding New Yoork audiences enthralled with their amazing juggling act: and Carol Kasen, the successful snake charmer (with an eye out for our Foreign Policy), is enter- taining at the Circus. (Snakes for the above act arc supplied by Jack Steigerwald, the famous ele- phant trainer.) Jack Kruse leads the circus band, Rob Mendc is the ring-master, and Pat Day is reported to have a peanut vending concession at the back entrance! Here it says that Dot Harrison, the well-known barker (yes, mv dear, positively!), is enticing people in to see Rose Perry, the Fat Lady, play her remarkable bugle solo, and to see Rob ard, the Thin Man and Electrical Genius (it says here!). Joan Rottelli is said to have a double trapeze act with Eddie Ortzen; and Cheryl Cassidy, the comedienne, is an added attraction. “Oh, and here's an article about Margot Trimble (former President of Vassal ) and Etna Schneider (former President of W ellesley), who for the sake of humanity, together with Retty Monk and Pat Goldin, have founded a girls' boarding school in the interior of Tibet; and it tells here how Rud Wolfcrt and Claire Van Orden are talent scouts looking for prospective students in the heart of the Rclgian Congo. And here’s something about Joan Conkling. the feminine F. P. Adams, stump- ing the Board of Experts on Information Please. (Roard consisting of Mary Carlaw, expert in field of science, and John Sodoma, expert in field of sports—a very enlightened combination, to say the least!) And here’s Barbara Saunicr, the Ilka Chase of her day, interviewing Art Gerweck and Tom Martin, men-about-town. (I mean re-ally). And there are Marybellc Littell and Jean Strelow and Barbara Raymond—they were especially noted for their newest chemical concoction tie- signed to take the kink out of Jerry Schultz's hair.
