The Pep Club was organized soon after school started with fifteen members enrolled. Officers were elected as follows: President ----------- Betty Decker Vice President ---- Dorothy'Wiltse Sec. and Trees. ----- Betty DeWitt Yell Queens ---------- Anno Morrow ---------e--------Delores Hanner -------------------Carol Newbill The yell queens were gold pleated skirts and blue letter- sweaters during football season. During basketball season they were royal blue dresses. with circular skirts and gold sleeves, and gold megaphone emblems on the front. The pep The pepclub sponsored a ban- quet on April 3, 1948, in honor of the ' boys on the A and B strings. The table delicious food were prepared by the home economies and home re- lations girls. arrangements and At eight o'clock everyone standing in place, joined in to sing, nHail, Hail, The Qhng's All Heron. When all were seated we drank a toast to the A and B basketball boys. They returned the compliment by drinking a toast to the pep club girls. Following the toasts we were fa- vored by a tap dance, done very nicely by-Margaret Sampson and ....---.,u---.q- club girls were royal blue skirts and gold pullover swea- ters. Blue and gold beanies set off their outfits. Several girls bought navy blue caps with HColumbiaU on the front, which they were to the games. At the beginning of the bas- ketball season we made a reso- lution that all pep club girls must attend a certain number of games in order to be guests at the banquet, which was given after basketball season was over. As president of this pep club, I am proud to say that all the girls were eligible to be guests at the banquet. Betty Decker accompanied by her sister, Marlyn. Then we settled down to the main course, which consisted of roast turkey, dressing, brown gravy, mashed potatoes, string beans, tossed green salad, and coffee. Four girls sang, uNight And Dayn, accompanied by Mr. Ariqman at the piano. Our final course, the dessert, was delicious home made pie and coffee. After dinner everyone enjoyed dancing until midnight.
