This is the first year that the Seventh and Eighth grades have been included in the organization. This is due to the fact that they are housed in the high school building. Consequently, the girls have been invited to join the Federation and to participate in the activities. A mem- bership fee is required, therefore we need no further finan- cial support for the various activities we carry-on. The Girls' Federation have sponsered social functions in the community this year. The second annual Formal Instal lation was held October 20th, in the High School Auditorium, and honored the mothers of the girls. A program of musical numbers were interspersed throughout the afternoon. This function was widely attended and helped to promote friend- ship between the parents and teaehers. ' The girls hiked to Beaver Dam on the afternoon of April 13, to participate in a weiner roast. Each girl brought her share of the food,wh1ch proved to be an over-abundance. Mrs. Donning and Mrs. Hurley were our guests. Although a cold wind blew off the Columbia River, a large bonfire, healthy appetites, and our hike, kept us from feeling .the gbiting wind and occasional showers between the spurts of sun. Financially, the Federation has had a successful year. We purchased fifty song books for the Student Body and the megaphone emblems for the Pep Squad. This organization spon- sors the Pep Squad and its activities during the year.Q
