At midyear, when the Class of '44 graduated,l the Society lost two mem- bers, Dorothy Leitzman and Bernice Jones. Both of these girls were fourth-year members and had received their torch pins, Due to the untiring efforts of three last year's fresh- men, Robert Erdmann, Alice Goldade, and Charles Uhling, time Honor Society now consists of four members. Mrs, Walkley was our advisor for the first half of the year, but Mrs. Denning, the Commercial teacher, is now our advisor since Mrs. Walkley's departure.- The members receiv- ed the bar-pins in November. The pins awarded were: one-bar pins to Alice Goldade, Charles Uhling, and Robert Erdmanng and a two-bar pin to Dorothy Romm, The torch pins were a- warded to Bernice Jones and Dorothy Leitzman on the evening of Com encement.' T l The awards are as follows: a one-bar pin year, a two-bar pin for the second yearg and a the third and final year. The pins are given points which are earned by scholastic average for the first torch pin for on a basis of curricular activities. i This year the Honor Society has successfully carried on the sale into the the pins group at of pencils which has brought a substantial amount society treasury, This money is used to purchase awared each yearl and to finance a party for the the close of the year, andaextra-
