DEIIICATIUN It was the wish of the students and the editorial staff that this Cohian be dedicated to our principal, Russell Sahlstrom. We are grateful to Mr. Sahlstrom for his service to our school and our community. His friendly and helpful guidance has won him the respect of the students and the faculty. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, he held the position of social studies teacher first at Columbia grade school and later at our high school. ln the fall of 1945 he was appointed principal. His work in this position has been outstanding. With great pleasure we dedicate to Mr. Sahlstrom this 1953 edition of the Cohian. wg f E Q I fc' A ,A , gr E gg ,X ' .N,f.a'9'Ll1f'f5iV,z ? Another addition was the basketball uniforms-gold turtleneck sweaters and royal blue corduroy skirts with gold lining. Many memories stand out during the past year. the practices, the aching muscles, the mistakes during a yell that were so embarrassing at the time and laughed about later, the games we won and those we lost, the kids we met, the fun and good times, and cheering at the Laker exhibition game to a crowd ot fourteen hundred.
