BIBLE THEME In this era of growzng world tenszon we, the edztors of the COLUMBIANA sought for a theme which would convey to our readers a message of peace and understanding among men For many centuries THE BIBLE has been a teacher law glver peace maker, and a foun tazn of eternal hope for the people of the world But THE BIBLE beszdes bezng a source of moral and ethzcal values, has also been one of the great lzterary creatzons of the human race Its storzes can be read and reread tzme and agazn each tzme provzdzng a new experzence for the reader Lzvlng as we do zn an age when sczence seems to be shaping human destiny for both good and evzl we are apt to overlook those splrztual values which have made men but Lzttle Less than the angels In the Western world THE BIBLE has become the reposztory of these spur est masterpzeces of art lzterature and muszc In our present moral and spzrztual crzszs the cry of the anczent prophet Haven t we all one father?
