Some go fast, others slow, some are merry, and some are sad. As we grow older, songs will come back To us, bringing memories of days gone by. Whaf, then, would be a be'rTer Theme for This 1952 WILDCAT, Than music! 'X NQIGN We cleclicafe This 1952 Wildcat Annual to The hope that the world will never be WITHOUT A SONG. The allegro of our National Anthem inspires an allegiance to our Democratic ideals and American way of life. The andante of healthful and moral living should reflect our character and home. The symphony of The American Way proves that for every right assured by our constitution there is a corresponding duty. We should be tacit unless we can say something nice about our fellow man. We should B sharp in acquiring an education. The theme of a good many songs has been work, as well as play, love and happiness, and the opera of human living must include the serious as well as the comic. May your high school education leave you with the music of better living in your soul. CLARENCE E. LEE Superintendent of Schools M R. F L E M I N C L E -Y if R K People over the world are facing a crisis as great as any time in history. Where do we sit? In Germany it was guns or butter. Guns won, and Germany lost. ln America, as the cold war takes more of our cash and time, it may become guns or schools. lf we choose either we lose. Somehow we've got to have both. In short, there isn't security without freedom, hope without oppor- tunity, and progress without incentive. The iob ahead of you is difficult, but it is urgent and rewarding. We will watch your progress eagerly-with faith in your ability to succeed, with hope for the great future you will build, and with charity toward the mistakes which you, like all of us, will make. Mix the sour notes with the sweet, and go ahead with A Song ln Your Hearts.
