Senior Class l-listor , . Class Oflicers Left to right: Harold Rathbun, Charles Holbrook, Barbara Strouse, Center front: Linda Wright. History One fall day in September of '45, more than a hundred very green freshmen wandered into good old C.C.H.S. After several days of go- ing to the wrong classes at the right time, we settled down as progres- sive students. We elected Joe Adkins president. Many students participated in various extra-cur- ricular activities, such as band, choir, Booster Club, Eagle Staff, Forum, and Spanish Club. In our sophomore year we became more ambitious. Lee Bitting presided over our busi- ness and social activities. Miss Carver and Mr. Chapman led us faithfully through another year. Students in speech work and band brought many honors to the class. Lee Bitting won the state FFA Oratorical Contest. We started our money-making projects by sponsoring dances and selling pencils and Eagle pins. After two years of hard work, we finally became upperclassmen. Our class welcomed a new sponsor, Mr. Lazarz. Cliff Blanchard became president. Our main goal this year was to raise money for that long-waited reception which was held at the Chamber of Commerce Building, Fort Wayne. Much too soon our senior year came upon us and slipped away. Charles Holbrook assum- ed office as presidentg Linda Wright, vice-president, Barbara Strouse, secretary, and Harold Riathbun, treasurer. Shirley Foltz reigned over the Hallowe'en festivities with Charles Hol- brook, her escort. The juniors entertained us with a very fine reception. Class night activities were held on May 27. Instead of having the senior supper, we enjoyed an educational trip to Detroit and Canada. Baccalaureate services were the 29th of May. Commencement was June 3. Mr. Harold F. Carr, pastor, Lakewood Methodist Church, Lakewood, Ohio, gave the address. We chose the motto, t'Not finished, just begun,', for we felt that graduation from high school is just the beginning of our future lives. The red rose was favored by our class and our colors were blue and silver. Thanks for the memories, CCHS, and as we bid you a fond farewell, we wish to extend our gratitude to our patient sponsors, parents, and teachers, who have so faithfully stood by us during our four years of high school education. We will continue to strive for higher ideals and special fields of endeavor, so that we may do our part to make this a better world to live in. -Doloros Rondeau 14
