Columbia Bible College Columbia, S. C. Volume XXXV mmmmm Seeking first God ' s Kingdom and His righteousness should be evident in the lives of His stewards, for Jesus Himself has commanded that we be lights set on a lampstand, shedding His light in a world of darkness (Matthew 5:14, 15). But in order to be clear, pure lights, there must be complete and total surrender to God and His will. We are to be branches abiding in the True Vine, drawing our very life -substance from the Lord Jesus Christ. Giving all the glory to Jesus, we lovingly dedicate the 1974 Finial to two shining beacons of light who, through the past twenty-five years of loyal service, have continually and consistently sought the Kingdom of God and let His righteousness shine through their lives. To the Glory of Christ Because of Mr. and Mrs. G. William Supplee, Jr. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy:, mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou mayest, observe to do according to all that is :. written therein:. for then thou shalt make thy way pros- : perous, and then thou shalt have gOod success. Have. - not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord. ;; . thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest, - •■• Joshua 1:8,9 Seek Ye First w . I „. - £E w , - iPg ,, - 4 W Seeking the Kingdom of God means, first of all, be- coming a loyal subject of the King of kings and Lord of lords ... It means loving His Law and His Lordship . . . It means proclaiming His Gospel and His coming to all nations ... It means confessing Jesus Christ as Lord to the glory of God the Father . . . and we, His seekers, are promised, SEEK, and ye SHALL FIND (Matthew 7:7) SEEKERS of the Kingdom page 17 Seek Ye F The Kingdom of God Jesus said, Except a man be born again, he can- not see the Kingdom of God (John 3:3). The King- dom of God, then, involves a personal relationship with the King Himself through the regeneration of the Holy Spirit by the Word of God. The service of the Kingdom means Going forth with weeping, bear- ing precious seed ... in order to come again with rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves into the Kingdom of God (Psalm 126:6). SERVICE of the Kingdom . . . . page 61 He (God) hath made Him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (II Corinthians 5:21). Seeking His righteousness means to the believer the realization of Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27b . To know Him and to make Him known is the directive aim of all the faculty and staff at CBC. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). STEWARDS of the Kingdom page 67 T0 KN OW hw 9 d y w M KNO N C : .- Seek Ye First the Kingdon of God and His Righteousness CLILKJ. J. (Romans 8:32). Now we have received, not che spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God (I Corinthians 2:12). Along with Christian or- ganizations and capable leadership, God has sup- plied all our needs accord- ing to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). SOCIETY of the Kingdom ....... page 87 M % i For we are His work- manship created in Christ Jesus unto good works (Ephesians 2:10). And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation (II Corinthi- ans 5:18). Body, soul, and spirit — everything we need for every area of our lives is provided through the power of our Lord Jesus Christ . . . and even our participation in sports is for His glory. SPORTS of the Kingdom page 99 12 Shall Be Added Unto You 13 Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and All These Things Shall Be Added Unto You Allelu! 14 Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a mer- chant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it (Matthew 12:45,46). Truly, as we seek God ' s Kingdom and His righteousness, all the extras are added unto us. The support of Columbia ' s businesses is given; mission boards present their programs to us; and publishing companies offer their materials. These are all God ' s gifts to us, but the greatest of all is the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift (II Corinthians 9:16).
