II Cor. 2:14 OLD CAMPUS Miss Mary I. Gordon Columbia Bible College Box 3122 Columbia, S. C. 29203 COLUMBIA BIBLE COLLEGE COLUMBIA, S. C. ALMA MATER Columbia, Alma Mater, Thy name we would adorn With filial devotion Of veneration born. In land of golden jasmine And fair magnolia white Thy tow ' rs are pointing upward Toward God and heaven and light. Of rare and costly marble Thy walls were never reared, But sons and daughters noble To whom His grace appeared Have ever been thy bulwarks, Thy rare adornment, too. Columbia Bible College, Our Alma Mater true. The vision thou hast given Of truth and human need Inspires us all to service To sow the Precious Seed. May we in consecration To Jesus Christ alone Fulfill thy sacred purpose To know and make Him known. Evangeline B. Kimber, ' 27-T XXXIV iiiiiiiiyiiiiwiiiiiiMiiii The quality of teaching is determined by the quaHty of the teacher himself. Through- out the past 50 years, God has faithfully supplied Columbia Bible College with teachers who not only are able to teach the truth of God in the classroom, but also to exhibit the love of that truth in their own lives. As an expression of God ' s faithfulness to us in this area, we dedicate this 1972-1973 Finial to one who shows not only by the quality of his teaching, but also by the qual- ity of his own life, love for God and His Word: Mr. Raymond F. Shepherd ?BW HM(1 , ?twrj ' A(a H«Sti ' iMli -a.. ' i4SlU ' ■; .- s. THAT 50th YEAR Building takes time: Building a school. Building a reputation. Building a life. This year marks 50 years of building. Yes, building a faculty, a campus, and much else, but most of all building Christ- like men and women who . , . KNOW HIM and go out TO MAKE HIM KNOWN j ft IT SHALL BE HOLY UNTO YOU. Thank You, Lord. Cause us now to see anew your faithfulness as we bow at your feet, bringing all the glory and honor, which we are so prone to keep for ourselves, to you— because it is yours. REFLECT ON YOUR FAITHFULNESS IN PROVIDING FOR MATERIAL NEEDS IN MEETING OUR PHYSICAL NEEDS h  d- IN PROVIDING SOCIAL OUTLETS nkim IN MEETING OUR SPIRITUAL NEEDS •    -s. A: IN USING US TO SERVE YOU AND THROUGH IT ALL WE ARE DRAWN CLOSER TO YOU, WHO IS MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR THE PRESENT AND FAITHFUL FOR ALL ETERNITY. FAITHFUL IN LIFE AND DEATH ROBERT G. GIBSON ' BOBBER ' ' APRIL 29,1953- DEC. 26,1972 The sudden and unexpected death of Bob Gibson was a further demon- stration of the faithfulness of God to us. From his death we are assured that it is not only in this life that we can experience the fact of God ' s faithfulness, but we also have the joy of experiencing His faithfulness in death and on into eternity. If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most to be pitied. 16 5 - TEACHER VWSWWWnrWBWJtflBPSWWSWI W P A PRESIDENT J. O. BOX 3122 . COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA 29203 Office of the President Dear Class of ' 73: THAT 50TH YEAR. . . IS A JUBILEE; IT SHALL BE HOLY UNTO YOU What does it feel like to be the Jubilee class? You ' re the first class to bear the distinction. May you be the last, too--may Jesus bring in His eternal Jubilee long before another half century has passed. . . . Remember what the Jubilee meant? It was the year when God ' s sovereign owner- ship was demonstrated, His ownership of people and land and nature itself (Leviticus 25). It was a year of REDEMPTION-- Because your older Brother paid the full price, you ' ve been set free. You ' ve returned to your forever family. It was a year of RESTORATION-- Because you are His possession now, you ' ve given back to Him all you have-- it is His by right of redemption. You ' re just an alien and transient here, in- vesting your whole life for the King of the land where your true citizenship is. It was a year of REST-- You ' re learning to rest in His great miracle provision of all you need. He will command the blessing for the barren years as well as for the harvest time. Are you bound? Yield to His bondage and be free. Are you weak? Trust His promise and be strong. Yours is the Year of the Trumpet Blast, the Jubilee. Because of the Day of Atonement you have redemption, restoration, and rest. And you have the prom- ise of full redemiption, total restoration, and eternal rest when the trumpet heralds God ' s final Jubilee. May jubilant celebration of God ' s great salvation be your mark.
