Present Classroom. . . . and PRESENT The present purpose for the existence of Columbia Bible College is the same purpose which prompted its establishment forty years ago: to train young people to know Him and to make Him known. CBC has developed and grown only because the Lord has en- abled its leaders to keep their eyes on this single goal. Through its interdenominational position, CBC has sought to contribute unity to the Church of Jesus Christ without compromising with or condoning any positions or beliefs which are dishonoring to Him. Since the fall of 1960, CBC has been operating on its new campus, six miles from Columbia. This year the Alumni Association took as its Thanksgiving Prayer Goal$100, 000 toward the construction of the McQuil- kin Memorial Administration building. An identical $100,000 goal for Thanksgiving, 1963, has already been set. Though many buildings which are urgently needed have not yet been constructed, that which we see so far reminds us daily that it is a miracle cam- pus, a triumphal exhibit of God ' s abundant provision. TRIUMPH Dr. Robert C. McQuilkin: Founder and President. The old chapel . PAST . . . Columbia Bible School was established in 1923 with an enrollment of eight students. Only God knew the trials and triumphs which lay ahead and His choice for its first president was a man upon whom He had long had His hand. From 1923 to 1952 Dr. Robert C. McQuilkin, through God ' s grace a man always in triumph , was the president of Columbia Bible Col- lege. He watched CBC grow through prayer into a Bi- ble College with its own campus in the heart of Co- lumbia, and he looked forward through faith to com- ing days of expansion and greater miracles than these. Dr. McQuilkin challenged the students ten years ago with this conclusion to a message on He- brews 11: Young people, go out and write a faith chapter of your own. Faculty Chapel message: Past.

TRIUMPH ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT in SPIRITUAL LIFE While desiring to maintain a high scholastic level in accordance with standard college requirements, CBC continues to recognize the paramount importance of spiritual preparation and the necessity of placing young Christians in a training environment in which they will yield to the molding of God ' s will. Accred- ited by the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges and recognized by the United States Office of Educa- tion, CBC has as the center of its curriculum the Word of God, offering at least sixteen Bible courses. To supplement the Christian ' s training, courses in edu- cation, religious education, music, missions, theol- ogy, foreign language, and many liberal arts are of- fered, with degrees of Biblical Education given. The Graduate School of Missions provides training on a graduate level leading to a degree of Master of Arts in Biblical Education or Bachelor of Divinity.
