We see a kitchen and dining-room which, on September 19, I960, had an unpainted floor, a scant two-weeks-old roof supported by Oregon imported beams, no cooks, no clean pots and pans, no gas, no water, and incomplete electrical fixtures. At 6:00 P.M., September 20, three hundred tired students had their first meal of the year. They were served and satisfied! We see a library in the basement of Dorm 4, which is very compact and quiet (except when there ' s a class in the adjacent Room 7, which is most of the time), and which sur- prisingly holds more than two-thirds of all the old library ' s volumes. We see the added features of an extension telephone on each dormitory floor, a lavatory in each room, and fluorescent lights on each ceiling. We see five tennis courts, two basketball courts, and two handball courts- -places where the body is schooled, even as the mind is trained in the classroom. We see the remarkable phenomenon of green grass growing out of a mixture of clay, gravel, and very little dirt. Fortunately, however, one thing failed to materialize. On September 11, 1960, the whole progress of con- struction on the campus, and consequently our coming here for the Fall semester, threatened to be stunted for weeks, perhaps even months, by the approach of a great mass of heavy rains and powerful winds, to which the Weather Bureau gave the name Hurricane Donna. Heading straight for Columbia, she unexpectedly veered from course, skirted the territory, and left us with little more than harmless showers. Work continued under the bless- ing of dry weather. Not until September 27, the day after newly laid macadam walks assured the students of keeping reasonably dry feet, did the weather break, and drench the campus with a downpour of rain. Yes, we have seen the mighty acts of God. We cannot but conclude that this is His work, not man ' s. But may it also be said of us that we have not only seen His works, in what He has done so far on our wonderful new campus, but also that we have learned of His ways.

THE NEW CAMPUS We who have lived here at Columbia Bible College for the better part of the past nine months have been privileged to behold the very beginning of a brand new chapter in the history of the school, and to see an open display of the power of God. He has revealed His mighty arm to us; He has done exceeding abundantly above all that we asked or thought; He has, indeed, rewarded faith with sight! Surely the new campus is a monument to His faithfulness and a training ground for ours. And as we gaze upon His great provision, what do we see? We see three hundred and forty acres of South Carolina ' s rolling hills, complete with river, lake, pine trees, and electric power poles, altogether a botanist ' s paradise. We see a majestic gray water tower, graciously built for our use by the city of Columbia in return for the small tract of land from which it rises. We see twelve million fewer tons of hard packed earth, and in its place eight stately brick structures, a green gable-roofed edifice, and a sixteen-room bungalow boasting twelve pianos and a vibraharp.
