t mr ;GGI ' 40 Farewell to the Seniors The aspiration of every Senior is to scale the heights of ser- vice as he enters a future made certain by the promises of God. The name of the yearbook, The Finial, is symboHc of aspiration. Far above Hampton Street reaching in the quiet- ness of the pure atmosphere toward the ceihng of the heaven are two small projecting budlike rods, two finials. In their aloofness from the world below, in their upward reach, in their pristine dignity they represent in eloquent style the challenge of future service for the Senior class. It is our prayerful expecta- tion that as the finials on the Bible College towers lift men ' s eyes toward heaven your lives may fulfill in a deeper measure that sacred purpose. The Junior Class Thy tow ' rs are pointing upward Toward God and heaven and light Tribute to C. B. C. Undisturbed stars move in their courses above the crowning finials, while black robed figures advance along the aisle. Better known in heavenly places than to sons of men is Co- lumbia Bible College. It has come at last, the day for which we have lived and longed; but with it comes the ache of leaving friends and countless things we have learned to love. We have found in these halls a higher standard and a nobler aim, and surely, when will our thirst for knowledge again find relief at a fountain sweet as this? Four years, all too short to quench the burning dryness in our hearts; but there is a well of praise springing up, a fountain of living water— a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ. We thank you for giving us — Him. The Class of ' 40.
