•40 The President ' s Greeting to {he Class of 1940 The year of your graduation is a fateful year in the history of the world. As the first graduating class in this present world war, you go out into wider service with new emphasis upon the fact that you are soldiers of the Lord Jesus Christ, our conquering King. You go out with a perfect understanding of what His plan of campaign is — to take the Gospel to the uttermost part. You go out with absolute certainty as to the outcome of the conflict. You go out knowing that the present war among the nations is a part of the age-long conflict between God and Satan, and that Christ is controlling every event. You go out with the joy of knowing that He is also controlling your life, and is as definitely interested in your individual plans as He is in the whole conflict. This, of course, is a challenge not to self- importance, but to a life that has no individual plans of its own except as they are related to Christ ' s program and purpose. To me to live is Christ. A finial is described as a crowning adornment. My prayer for each of you, and for your class as a whole, is that you may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. Then one of the things that will make 1940 a notable year is the fact that this class was graduated from C. B. C. and went out to glorify Christ. ( i?. 6.;n 2i- -
