= ftmat c Uhe Finial High above the sidewalks of Hampton Street, crowning each of the twin towers of Columbia Bible College, are the bud- like finials which inspired the name of this volume. Being familiar and unique to the daily passerby as they stand out boldly with Heaven as a background, they symbolize the work and testimony ' of our Alma Mater which, like a finial, lifts the observing eye and holds it for more than a casual glance. The finial, as a crowning adornment, was thought an appropriate symbol for such a volume as this is meant to be. Gathering under one cover the pictorial memoirs of the school year and preserving .them perhaps for decades beyond the hasty scrutiny of commencement days, it will, in the esteem of every Bible College alumnus, have earned its title, The Finial.
