Mr. Sheeran Supervising Principal Congratulations to each of you upon the successful START of your education and lifelong development; for such is your position today! You are starting what I hope will be a long and mostly happy journey to discover yourselves and your role in a vast, confusing and some- times terrible world. I urge you to do only three things. One; try . . . keep trying, for no matter how bad you think things are weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Two; believe in your ability to improve things to make a difference. Three; give ample thought to those around you. Do these three things and I believe you will be happy and, more important, fulfilled! I would like to congratulate the Class of 1976, as you grad- uate during the United States Bicentennial year, and wish you every success for the future. John Burroughs, a well known author and naturalist, made this statement: A man may fail many times, but he isn’t a failure until he begins to blame somebody else. I think you, as the Bicentennial Class, could well live by this ASSERTION as you enter society. Mr. Whyte High School Principal
