3 To try to write a worthy dedication to an individual like you, Mr. Tompkins, is a task which is nearly impossible. You’ve been a teacher and advisor to all of us, but most of all you’ve been our friend. A friend that was always there when we had a prob- lem or when we just wanted a room to sit in and someone to talk to. You acted as our advisor in our Junior year and got us through Trig and our Christmas Ball in a far calmer state than most of us were. In dedicating our yearbook to you, Mr. Tompkins, we can’t even begin to say what we feel, but most of all we just want to say we’ll miss you and thanks for everything. I I i I 4 Q up ak irtf] G Uneipd; cAfk £$lhmrv In one of her lesser poems, Edna St. Vincent Mil- lay wrote the lines, ’Til die but that's all I'll do for death . I’ve always thought these words concisely expressed a fine philosophy of life, one that says much by saying little. One that links all evils under one label. One that shows acceptance and yet deter- mination to try to better conditions, to lessen evils, to improve mankind's lot. These things would be lofty goals for any generation. Perhaps they will be absolute essentials for your generation if it is to avoid Armageddon! I hope all of you leave CPCS with the essential base experience to pursue these goals individually, collectively, and successfully. Ohjnan Dear Seniors, Each of you is dear to my heart. My wish is that your aspirations lead you as high as Sputnik - which was still in the planning when you were launched. I know you can accomplish what you really want to do. My one bit of advice would be - Be kind to each other. Love, Mrs. O'Gorman LEFT TO RIGHT: R. Weegar, C. Brown, K. Klein, A. Thomas, W. Ford, R. Creighton, M. Colohosey MR. GALLAGHER 9 10 MRS. We shall always remember the wonderful value Tammy put on life and liv- ing. To her parents, we can truly say that although Tammy’s life was very short, she made us all realize just how precious a gift life is. m u Those were the days my friend We thought they’d never end We sang and danced forever and a day, We live the life we choose We fight and never lose For we were young and sure to have our way. 15 16 DANNY CASTER 17 MARIE FALLON EDWARD BOYCE 19 LAURIE BRADLEY 20 ELIZABETH HOWARD 21 MARILYN DAVIS 22 LARRY GREENE 23 MICKEY McEWEN ' Susan Paige Mary Ann O'Gorman 24 SHERRY PERRY 5 LAURA SEA VER 27 GLORIA SHEA DONNE SIMPSON 29 30 MARTY THOMAS 31 NANCY VEBBER tmm 32 DANNY OLMSTEAD 33 KNEELING: M. Wonder why we try so hard Wonder why we try at all You wonder why the world is turning around When in the end it won’t matter at all. Standing in the town Looking at people counting their frowns Unhappy faces hurrying around So blind they cannot see All of these things The way life ought to be And with tomorrow what will they make of me It leaves me so much to explain. That’s the start of our guessing game. By Ray Thomas PROFESSIONAL PAGE Lee H. Turner 22 South Main St. Norwood, N.Y. Abraham Injeian, M.
