Text from Pages 1 - 73 of the 1968 volume:

In gratitude for the safe transportation of students to and from school each day, for the patience dis- played while driving a bus filled with cheering fans to ballgames, for the excellent upkeep of our school building and the grounds, the Class of 1968 dedicate the Coltonian to the busdrivers and custodians of Col- ton-Pierrepont Central School. 2 0)0 3 PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE SUPERVISING PRINCIPAL Uicfitt d f-L C ibiib “Survival of the fittest” has always been the rule of the animal world and in the past it was also the rule of man’s world. This phrase can be applied with a different interpretation today. Those of you have made good use of your years in school and have worked honestly and diligently are the “fittest” to cope with the competition you will meet after graduation. You are the ones who have so disciplined yourselves that the desire to do will goad you on to still greater effort. You will be the achievers, the leaders and the backbone of tomorrow’s society. For those of you who have been the floaters, wasting both time and mental potential, my advice is to wake up before it is too late. Put every effort into improving yourselves and insuring your future. Everything worth while requires work, sacrifice and time. As Adlai Stevenson said in his acceptance speech when nominated for President of the United States - “There is no gain without pain.” The knowledge that you have done your best will give you great happiness and even though you may never attain the height for which you aim you will become men and women of character for having tried. 4 Secretaries - Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Fallon.
