THE PROPHECY OF THE CLASS OF 1965 It is the year 1985 and our supersonic space ship is preparing for its blast-off. Head pilot Jim Bon- ner is consulting with his specialized team of mechanics, Bill Clark, Linton Gotham and Ralph Wil- lard. Their problem right now seems to be the control of the air pressure. These men have been preparing five years for this big flight. Jim has proven himself quite a pilot. He has worked many hard years to gain this position -- many schools, then test pilot, then chief test pilot. He doesn’t want one minor thing to go wrong on this flight. His mechanics Bill, Linton and Ralph feel the same way. They have been preparing a long time too for this trip. They can take their ship apart and put it back together blindfolded. Head physicist Ronnie Van Brocklin has been around the ship for hours checking and rechecking. He has been flitting back and forth from Space Command Headquarters building to the ship like a hummingbird. He has to be positive about every calculation he has made. It means so much. Supplies have been loaded for the university and clinic which were established on the planet Pluto by the brave explorers Colonel Mike Lennox and Major Ed Gilmore in the year 1980. What an ex- citing trip that was! It electrified the world. The names Lennox and Gilmore are as common to everyone in the world as soap and water. Co-pilot Bill Hoyt is anxious to get going because it has been two years since he has seen his Plut- onian wife. At any moment, the former Sandy Wright should be arriving with her twelve children. Yesterday she was decorated by the President of the United States, Bill Riehl, as American Home- maker of the Year . She, her husband and twelve children plan to make their home on Pluto. They feel that they can be more useful there. Sandy plans to teach the Plutonians American cooking, and in turn, will learn the Plutonian cooking art. She intends to compile a cookbook on Plutonian cook- ing and send it back to earth. It ought to prove to be a best-seller. Their twelve children will also keep the clinic busy by making constant tests on them to determine environmental effects on all a- ges of earth people. The staff of the clinic will be aided by Gail Alford and Mary Jane Clohosey as dental hygienists. They are very anxious to find out the condition of Plutonian teeth. Jean Hepburn, Donna Hammond and Brenda Willmart will be nurses at the clinic. Their jobs ought to be quite a change from their nursing duties on earth. Linda Walrath will be the business manager for the clinic. The University of Pluto staff will be aided by Mary Jane Watson as foreign language expert and Janis O'Gorman as speech therapist. Ricky Rodwell, architect and art teacher at the university, also drew the plans for the university and clinic. Ricky is anxious to teach the Plutonians earth art, and also to make sketches of Plutonians and their surroundings to send back to earth for observation. What a break for Ricky! Louise Davis and Carol Collins are taking their families to Pluto where Louise and Carol will be in charge of the business department of the university. The number one American singer, Chuck Jenks, is making the trip to bring entertainment to the Plutopians and the Americans on Pluto. It will make the trip much more enjoyable with Chuck's singing accompanied by Colonel Lennox on his guitar. Well, that's the full crew and passenger list. Time for the blast-off! The class of 1965 really became space-conscious, didn't they? We always knew there would never be a dull moment for them. Hope they enjoy their life on Pluto for years to come. Happy landing!
