MARY LOU STROBECK Advertising Editor A unique combination of business woman and musician, Mary Lou starred four years in band and chorus, though she spent her Junior year in Florida where she was Junior Prom chairman, Here she joined Gym Club as a Soph, and as a Senior played an ingenue in the play, became a cheerleader and worked on the paper! Tops! I CHARLES O'NEIL GERRISH Copy Editor Charles has a nickname, Chuck, and a hobby, ---filling in the hours with reading, As a Freshman, he played basketball and went out for track, but after that left sports for the academic life. But, he didn't leave out fun, for he was part of the chorus in the Junior Jamboree, and on the committee for Ticket Sale in the Senior Play. ARLENE MARIE GREEN Associate Sales Manager Arlene is the girl that Shakespeare had in mind when he wrote: Her voice was ever soft, gentle, and low, An excellent thing in a woman. , Four years a member of chorus, she was in Gym Club as a Soph, and on the Racquetteer as a Senior, and she played a very coy girl in Scottin' Grandma! Arlene's trademark is her dimpled smile! EDWIN CLARENCE WRIGHT Faculty Editor Committee for the Senior Play. The other Ed played baseball in his Freshman year, and went out for Cross County and basketball in his Soph year, As a Fresh- man, he was class vice-president, as a Soph, he was president, and joined Gym Club, and a member of Student Council his Junior and Senior years. In his Senior year, Ed served on the Ticket

ELAINE ALICE MATTHEWS Photography Editor Red-headed, curly-headed laughing---Elaine sang four years in Chorus, and from her Soph, year, when she also joined Gym Club, worked on the Racquetteer Staff, Class officer? Oh, yes! Soph Vice-president, and due to her efficient effort, Junior and Senior Class Treasurer! A Senior, she joined the Dance Club, and in the Senior Play shone as a fun-loving Policeman, As to honors, she made them every year! JAMES JOSEPH GRAVLIN Senior Class Editor James, called Jim by his friends, was Sophomore Student Council member, on the Racquetteer staff as a Junior and Editor-in-Chief as a Senior, and vice president of the Senior class. He was also the top- flight free-lance artist and printer, XL JEAN MARIE JOHNSON Associate Advertising Editor Calm Jean, who always furnished an attentive ear, a sweet smile and a helping hand, joined Gym Club as a Sophomore, was chairman of the Junior Food Sale, and as a Senior, joined the Racquetteer staff and Dance Club. And still in fun, she made one of the trio of girls in search of a beau in the hilarious Senior Play, Too, she was always on time! VRANOUS FRANCIS JONES Class Lawyer A I M .. Nicknamed Casey , Vranous wrote the script for the Junior Jamboree, I played the villian in the Senior Play, and as a Senior joined the Dance Club. With Margo, Vranous shared the unrewarded contest for the most miles traveled a day to come to school, Also the Racquetteer and Yearbook will remember him as a forever competent typist. Vranous can be identified by side burns and a mercurial grin! 'te

EDWIN JAY WHITE, JR. Sales Manager Ed as the Seniors call him, came from Potsdam via Parishville, where he played football, As a Junior in Colton he was co-chairman of Junior Prom, and as a Senior he worked on the committee for stage sets for the Senior Play, With it all, Ed's one of the best salesmen 5 4s,is: M in the class! CORINA ROSE CARROW Classroom Editor Rose joined the school Chorus as a Frosh and a Sophomoreg she was a Racquette in the Junior Jamboree, and a chairman of Ticket and Ushers for the Senior Play, the same year she won the Homemaking Award Competition. Unofficially, she was the most omniverous reader in the class! NANCY LEE ANN MARDEN Class Historian Nancy, one of the friendliest girls in class, from her Freshman year when she joined band and chorus, through which she continued for all four years, and through Sophomore, Junior and Senior years on the Racquetteer Staff! Asa Senior she joined Dance Club and showed real dramatic skill as a loving wife in the Senior Play! Her pet hobby--and it paid off in the Senior Raffles--was baking pretty cakes! SHARON ANN MARTIN Senior transfer Sharon came back to Colton as a Senior, having spent the other high school years in Canton where she was a four year member of Art Club, Freshman class treasurer, and in that year, a band member, on the Wash staff, and in Dance Class. A Soph, she was on the bowling team, and a Soph and Junior member of the Safe-Teen club, a member of Chorus those years, and of Chorus as a Senior, She be- longed to Sodality, the 8:15 Club, the Big-Four Plus, Tumbling Club and CYC,
