Z7 vphecy It s a great day today for Colton rn thrs year 1978 Everyone rs celebrating the opening of a most successful establishment the huge new airport erected at the same well known srte as the old one To commemorate thrs occasion many drgnrtarres are going to be on hand Oh look' Here comes a plane rn now and who s that stepping down Why rt s Dick Shea now better known as General Shea Dick s battle campaigns for various sreges revolutionized the Army s battle techniques We always remembered Dick as a boy with the fighting sprtrt The stewardess on thrs plane is none other than Donna Smith whose charm and beauty have made her services demanded among the competing arrltnes As we look about the airport our attention rs drawn to the beautiful terminal designed by Irm Remington Jrm s abrlrty rn Mechanical Drawing rn high school hinted at the success he was to be as an architect As we go rnsrde the terminal we immediately become aware of the un usual murals painted by Dave Mackey known rn art circles as the second Van Gogh te switchboard busily placing and taking calls are Jane Olmstead Anne Long and Julia Regan efficient experts rn the telephone freld Oh Oh another plane rs coming rn' And who rs drsembarkrng but Steve Connelly emr nent lawyer and man about town As we recall rn Business Law Class Steve dearly loved to argue hrs point Behind Steve comes Russell Watson R11ssell s work rn the Atomic Energy trelds nometry The system of run ways hangars etc for the airport was planned and drawn up by our country s top engineers Harry Gibson and Chris Davies They work together as a team proving that two heads are better than one The actual building and construction of the airport was under the contract of Gilmore 8s Regan Inc Francis and Ronnie have made quite a name for them selves as a result of their many successful projects Gordon Ford rs on hand with all hrs State Troopers to see that law and order rs enforced Since Gordon joined the State Police he has rapidly advanced until now he rs rn charge of all the Troopers rn the state With Gordon rs Fred Morrow the school s truant officer Fred does a commendable Job and rs especially strict during those tempting days rn hunting season Someone rs running across the runway Oh it s Tom Manfred who s always rn a hurry these days since he owns and operates the atrport Tom s love of speed has been fulfilled rn hrs latest purchase of a lrne of jet planes Running after htm are hrs two secretaries Judy Bonner and Charlotte Corcoran These grrls are always on the Job whether rt be rn Alaska or llawarr The last plane rs now rn sight On thrs plane are three girls who are rn radrcally drfferent frelds but who have chosen to arrrve together Gerry Tucker school nurse at an exclusive frnrshrng school rs the frrst to step down Behind her rs Sally McEwen renown the world over for her hart styling and her beauty hints Lastly Beth Hurley appears Beth is head lrbrarran at e Library of Congress Now that the group has gathered the celebratron can begin To start off the festrvrtres the arrport's gracious receptronrst Laura Lrtten steps forward to begin an opening address As we move away we hear snatches of her speech and we wonder Where wrll the Class of 58 be rn another twenty years? , , , . , .
