on the 1ce whom I recognlzed 1mmed1ately as Leota Round and round we went unt1l I thought she would never stop but when she f1nally d1d and I heard the applause lt made me pretty proud that I led such a charmed l1fe From the revue we all went to a cockta1l party bemg thrown 1n I..eota's honor at the Waldorf Astorla The hall was sparkllng and al1ve w1th people of New York soc1ety Leota whxle greetmg fr1ends around the room happen ed to pass a punch bowl and I sl1pped from her hand 1nto the punch There I was at the bo tom of the bowl gaspmg for breath and at the same t1me pray1ng fervently for my penny soul The next 1nstant I was transferred 1nto a glass then 1nto the mouth of some poor soul W1th a gasp from the same I flew out and across the floor When I was plcked up by mv rescur er dr1pp1ng and sh1ny my f1rst bath 1n years I saw It was Reg1nald Stowe Here 1S a boy that has gone places and made 1nternat1onal head llnes Reg IS the proud 1nventor of the new Stowedlbaker the car that 1S both Jet car and Jet plane shaped l1ke a peanut shell At the party I not1ced all the class mates of 50 were present and before the evenlng was over they assembled for a class meetlng The ma1n top1c revolved around me Dan told how he had g1ven me to Marg Marg told about passlng me to Esther and so on down the l1ne unt1l here I am worthless Non Cents makmg h1story Everythlng around me was one mass of confus1on Kathleen Gleason well known authoress whose latest publ1cat1on I-low to Bo1l Water 15 taklng the country by f1re was gather 1ng mater1al for my b1ography and d1ctat1ng the same to her secretary Kathleen Gorman notor1ous for her 1lleg1ble method of shorthand and ab1l1ty to confuse words Wh1le th1s was go1ng on I was seated on a d1sh pos1ng for a portra1t be1n pamted by Sally Sharrock known for her world famous pa1nt1ng TO BE R NOT TO BE the questlon what 15 1t'P 'P 'P When th1s was done the class dec1ded I should be returned to Colton they gave me to Bernlce Wh1tcomb a lecturer on old colns and the next morn1ng I was on my way home That my frlends 15 my story my new resxdence IS the trophy cab met 1n the halls of C P C S where I can see everyth1ng and everyone can see me There IS only one last word I should l1ke to thank the people who made my new home and 1f there was any way a l1tt1e penny could show grat1tude I would surely do my part Sally Sharrock CLASS WILL We the Class of 1950 bemng of sound mxnd and Jov1al nature do at th1s tlme publ1sh thls Last W1ll and Testament l To Mr Corbltt we bequeath a new desk upon whlch he can place h1S feet when the new school has been completed and h1s worr1es are over , . 1 1 I . , . 1 ' - - 1 . 4 ' ' r 1 1 . , .
