Ray! Team! Team! Team! And cheers for a season with a lot of fun, a lot of fans, and a lot of action! And best of all, the revival of an old custom—the annua! basketball banquet! On March 24, Thursday evening, ninety guests attended a de-luxe banquet in the Hepburn Library Hall, one held in honor of the teams and the cheerleaders. The tables were decorated in purple and gold with flowers, and place cards of miniature megaphones; purple and gold menus gave the names of the teams and the cheerleaders and the articles on the baked ham dinner menu. The guests contributed to the gaiety! Among the guests were the entire school personnel and their husbands and wives; the members of the Board of Education and their wives; ihe bus drivers (who always got us to the games!) and their wives; the two teams, of course; the Varsity and JV cheerleaders, and at the speaker's table, in addition to Principal and Mrs. Corbitt, the Reverend and Mrs. Charles Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Kelley; Mr. and Mrs. Barnet Corbin and Mr. and Mrs. William Armet. Letters and awards to the teams and the girls climaxed the after dinner speeches, and everyone went home, pleased with the pleasant evening and the return of a happy custom.
