Not Shown: Harriett Kennedy—Peaceful Johnson—(A colored maid)—Mr. Stark—Director. Our Senior Play, “Cousin From Texas,’’ was presented this year under several handicaps but with “Rip- roarin’ success.’’ There seemed to be an epidemic of appendicitis during the casting and rehearsal of the play. Two of the senior boys, A1 Thomas and Phillip Mi ddelstaedt, were confined to the hospital during the casting of the play, and Beverly Jones followed two weeks later, after having accepted a part in the play. Harriett Kennedy substituted for Beverly and through h ard work the play went on as scheduled. Two performances were given, a matinee in the afternoon for the school, and the evening performance for the public. Kermit Ford, a freshman who consented to do the part of Wilbur, a youngster, will well be remembered for his various attempts to break vases as part of his performance in the play. Everyone did a fine job, with Everett and Harriet stealing the show as colored sei’vant.s. Mrs. Havdey assisted Mr. Stark with the make-up of the characters.
