Class Will The Senior Class of the Colton-Pierrepont Central School, do confess to be of physical soundness and high mentality, dispose thus of the following inheritable assets: TO: The Junior Class, we just “leave”. The Sophomore Class, we bequeath our intelligence in English. The Freshman Class, we bequeath our successful journey through school. Mjr. Corbitt, we bequeath a new high school for the class of 1949. Mr. Stark, we bequeath our appreciation of past kindness and guidance as our successful class advisor. AS INDIVIDUALS: I, Floyd Fallon, bequeath my infectious laughter, to all the teachers. I, John Frank, bequeath my excess weight, to the “Thin Man”, Bernard Sullivan. I, Laurine Hawley, bequeath Danny Hurley, to any- one who liked him as well as I did. I, Beverly Jones, bequeath mjy flirtatious nature, to Delight Tucker, the quiet Junior girl. I, Harriett Kennedy, bequeath my intentional abil- ity to get along with Mr. Butler, to Frances Vander- burg. I, Keitha LaPoint, bequeath my ability to conceal my secret admiration for Floyd Fallon, to any fort- unate soul. I. Lorraine Leonard, bequeath my ability of attend- ing school three days a week, and. getting through, to Barbara Fisher. I, Phillip Mittelstaedt, bequeath my wolfish nature and passion for blondes, to my cousin, Mike Moore. I, Paul Olmsted, bequeath my care-free nature to any work burdened soul. I, Teresa Reynolds, bequeath a lock of my beauti- ful black tresses, to Mary Louise Perkins. I, Clifford Savoid, bequeath my executive ability to Lloyd Daniels. I, Joseph Seaver, bequeath my nature of “Feudin and Fightin” with Dusty Hawley and Sady Smith, to anyone who wishes to possess it. I, Allen Thomas, bequeath my title of Captain of the basketball team, to my brother, Joe. I, Everett Thompson, bequeath my intelligence and quietness, to Eugene Severance. I, Sady Smith, bequeath my ability of playing the part of Mother in the Senior Play, to any nervous person. Class History We, the class of ’48, are about to bid farewell to our high school studies and embark on varied careers. In September '44 we entered high school with a class of nineteen members. At our first class meeting we elected the following officers: President, Allen Thomas; Vice-President, Gorman Ford; Secretary, Joseph Sea- ver; Treasurer, Floyd Fallon; Advisor, Miss Cunti. Many entered such activities as band, glee club, basket- ball, baseball and press club. In September ’45 we returned to school bearing the title “Sophomores.” We elected the following officers: President, Philip Mittelstaedt; Vice-President, Paul Olmsted; Secretary-Treasurer, Everett Thompson; Ad- visor, Mr. Freeman. Our first social attempt was a Halloween Party held in the study hall. Again our members took part in the various extracurricular activ- ities. Gorman Ford, Kenneth Bigwarfe, Dale Robar and Carl Snyder left us during the year. Teresa Rey- nolds transferred to Massena and Mary Hayes could not return in the fall because of illness. We gained Phillip Mittelstaedt from Syracuse and Harriett Kennedy from Potsdam. In September ’46 we returned to school with seven- teen members. At our first class meeting of the year, we elected the following officers: President, Everett Thompson; Vice-President, Floyd Fallon; Secretary, Clifford Savoid; Treasurer, Allen Thomas. Our advisor far the first part of the year was M. L. Saucier and the latter part our advisor was Mrs. M. D. Saucier. Wanda Fifield left this year, while Teresa Reynolds returned. Janet Stowe joined us from Ogdensburg, and Betty Ames from Massena. Our highlights of the year were a Valentine Sport dance and a Junior Prom in June. Class rings were selected and ordered in January ’47 and we received them the following fall. We resumed our studies as Seniors with fifteen members last fall. We have chosen the following of- ficers: President, Allen Thomas; Vice-President, Floyd Fallon; Secretary, Clifford Savoid; Treasurer, Everett Thompson; our advisor is Mr. Stark. Betty Ames and Janet Stowe left us and Beverly Jones trans- ferred from Canton. Our Senior Play, “My Cousin From Texas, Christ- mas Sport Dance and getting the Yearbook ready for press are our main efforts for this year. As we run the last milestone of our Senior year we look back with regret on the happy days that we are leaving behind as we face commencement and the task of finding a suitable career in an unsettled world. Class Prophecy The year: 1958 The Occassion: A reunion of the graduating class of ’48. The Place: The City Hall of Colton. As we glance over the hall we see that all the mem- bers of the class of 1948 are present. Wle’U now see where they have been in the ten years just lapsed. We find that Floyd Fallon has been the naval Captain of his own little fleet, “The Humphrey”. Johnnie Frank, we find, has been living in Wash- ington, D. C. as head of the Associated Press. Laurine Hawley (better known to us as Dusty) is the assistant manager to Mr. Hurley who is now the owner of a Brown’s Bridge Power Plant. Beverley Jones was the first woman to join the field of selling Ford automobiles and has been assisted by her partner, Kenney Wadleigh. Harriet Kennedy has been drum majorette for the United States Army Band. We see you’re still in step, Harriette! Keitha LaPoint joined the Waves and has been sail- ing on Captain Fallon’s boat. Keep ’Em' Sailing, Kids! Lorraine Leonard, (with her many years of ex- perience behind her), is now head waitress at the Island Key Restaurant in Key West, Fla. Phil Mittelstaedt owns and operates a Riding Academy, catering to co-eds. It is located ten miles south of the Mason-Dixon line. Don’t give up yet, Phil! Paul Olmsted, (better known to all as “Shorty”), is President of the Mason’s Union. Teresa Reynolds operates the Austin Ice Cream Parlor on lower Market Street in Potsdam. “Tee” thinks it’s wise to stay in a smiall town! Clifford Savoid is head cashier of the Independent Grocers of America, located in San Francisco. Keep the good work up Cliff! Joe Seaver, victorious in the presidential election, is often seen smiling proudly from the White House. “To the victor belongs the Spoils.” Sady Smith has had many years of business behind her but she still would rather be dishwasher and cook at the Vebber’s Mansion. “By the look of things she hasn’t hooked him yet!” Al Thomas, having abandoned his chicken farm on Windy Hill, has been touring the western and south- ern states in a convertable Oldsmobile. (We heard that the price of eggs had gone up!) Everett Thompson founded a famous Trigonome- trical School in Boston and is the Professor of Trig- onometry. What more could he deserve! As we leave the members of the class of ’48 in a dreamy silence, we’ll continue our long journey through life. Class Prophet, BEVERLEY JONES
