59 GirI's Athletics with the theme 'Shoot 'em High', the Girls' Athletic Associ- ation put on the annual Basketball Banquet March 27, ho cring both the 'A' and 'B' teams' '52-53 year, of basketball Following a roast turkey dinner, Mistress of Ceremonies, Harlys Stensrud, officially opened the banquet, and Darlene Stabl- neeker presented the welcome speech, followed by a response from Johnny Chelson, team co-captain. A violin solo by Miss Petersen preceded the next speaker, Coach Walker. Next on the program was a speech by one of the cheerleaders, Claudette Baggerly. The girls' sextet sang 'T e Bells of St. Mary'sU and 'Hake Be1ieve', and then the guest speaker, John Lewis, head basketball coach at Willamette University, spoke on basketball. After this program, dancing was held in the auditorium. s Officers for the year were: President Joan Ross Vice Pres. Marlys Stensrud Secretary Connie Stuhr Treasurer Judy Rsnhard Recorder Virginia Freeze
