9-' V? in if -. ugctf. fi- 5 56 .rv 5? 1 . 'sf 1 1 0? Dr. Dumont Kenny, the eighth president of Colorado Women 's College, semi-retired on January 1, 1976. Dr. Kenny entered the college at a time of instability and was subsequently faced with many serious decisions. The question of becoming a co-educational institution confronted the college in 1970. The school again underwent a name change-this time from Temple Buell to Colorado Women's College. Finances multiplied problems, and the college was faced by a potential merger with D. U. in the spring of 1976. A native of New York, Dr. Kenny has attended Fordham University and the University of Chicago. His doctoral dissertation examined reorientation aspects of the occupation of Germany. He has lectured throughout the United States and abroadg having been invited by the U. S. Department of State to return to Germany to lecture in 1955. Dr. Kenny has also been the president of York College . my 1 r of The City University of New York, as well as of Queensborough Community College of The City University. He is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and the New York Historical Societyg receiving an award for outstanding achievement in the field of education from the Fordham CollegeAlumniAssociation in 1966. Dr. Kenny and his family will remain in Denver, continuing their support of the educational and cultural pursuits in the area. The Skyline staff would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their dedication to CWC, and wish them well in years to come. To Dumont Kenny, who has restored the historic identity of this unique college for women here in the Rockies-you have laid the foundation upon which to build.
