mXXxxNRVv V X , Q Karen Thatcher has the distinction of having edited the Skyline for two years, 1975 and 1976. Although this annual history of CWC has been published each year since the first classes enrolled in 1909-1910, the first 65 yearbooks were each edited by a different student. But Karen was selected to serve for two years in this most important and demanding position. For this unusual achievement, I wish. to offer my congratulations and also to tell a little about this remarkable young woman. Karen came to CWC from her home in Leadville in the fall of 1972. That year she held a staff position on the yearbook and again in 1974, when she worked after school to help finish the final pages of the 1974 book. In 1975 and again this year, the responsibility has been hers. These were not easy years to have the positions of both editor and business manager. A declining budget meant that every possible saving had to be made. Advertising was sold, patrons solicited and books sold to part-time students. Four different photographers further complicated the job: but all expenses have been met and Karen leaves a small balance from advertising sales in the bank for Kim Bischoff and her staff next year. In addition to her two years as editor-Karen was a fine student. Elected Who 's Who, honor student in her discipline, she was graduated cum laude. The week after her graduation, she was busy with a new job-not unlike the last-editing catalog descriptions for Climax Molybdenum Company. omit., 6 .,,j,
