I tried to remember a clever bit of verse or some witty remark, but no success. All that I could think of to say was just, Thanks, thanks so much to everyone. The work on the 1954 Skyline actually began last spring after the staff positions were announced. Our first and terribly important job was the selection of a theme. We considered many different ideas, but the Dramatic theme kept recurring. After thinking it over during the summer, we decided in the fall that the Dramatic theme was ideally suited for representing a year at Colorado Woman's College. So, we started casting, The Campus of CWC was the Stage Setting on which the various actors would perform. The Seniors during their last year at CWC filled the part of Leading Ladies. The Freshmen or Ingenues were understudies preparing for that important leading role. The Organizations were Rehearsals that helped to prepare for life. The Faculty was at first considered as Directors. However, we decided that here at CWC, they filled more aptly the part of Prompters, offering helpful assistance and guidance. Though each of the girls on campus was really a Queen or Star, we only had space for nine of them. The Features or Between the Acts were some of many acivities enjoyed during the year: After we had our general plan in mind, taking the pictures and making the actual layouts was the next step. We started with this early in January and all the copy for the entire book was in the printers' hands by April 1. Reading and checking proofs was then the job, and now after giving you your book our part is done. We, the Staff, hope that you will enjoy the 1954 Skyline as much as we have enjoyed editing it. Sure, it was plenty of work, but lots of fun, too. I wish to especially thank the following for all their cooperation and assistanceg without them, the book would have been impossible.
